These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Table For Us Foundation website (tableforus.ca), our events, our donation platform, and any services we provide. By using our website or services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. About Table For Us

Table For Us Foundation (“Table For Us,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Toronto-rooted nonprofit organization working to reduce food insecurity and redistribute surplus food across the Greater Toronto Area. Our flagship fundraising event is the Foodville Festival, and we operate year-round programming through four mission pillars: food access, vendor support, cultural preservation, and community programming.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using tableforus.ca, donating, volunteering, attending one of our events, or otherwise engaging with our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to engage with our services including making donations, registering as a volunteer, or attending events with age restrictions.

4. Donations

All donations to Table For Us are voluntary and are made to support our charitable mission. By donating, you agree:

  • Your donation will be processed by our third-party payment processor (currently Stripe, subject to change)

  • Donations are non-refundable except where required by law or in cases of clear processing error

  • Recurring donations can be cancelled at any time by contacting info@tableforus.ca

  • Tax receipts will be issued for eligible donations once Table For Us has completed its registered charitable status with the Canada Revenue Agency. Until then, donations are not tax-deductible

  • You are responsible for any applicable taxes

5. Events

When you register for or attend a Table For Us event:

  • Event registration fees are non-refundable except in the case of full event cancellation

  • We reserve the right to cancel, postpone, or modify events for reasons beyond our reasonable control

  • By attending, you grant Table For Us and our partners the right to photograph, film, and record you, and to use your image in promotional, archival, and educational materials

  • You agree to follow the code of conduct at all events: respectful behaviour, no harassment, no discrimination, no illegal activity

  • Table For Us reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any person whose conduct disrupts the event or endangers others

6. Volunteering

Volunteer roles with Table For Us are unpaid. By signing up to volunteer, you agree:

  • To follow our volunteer code of conduct and any safety guidelines provided

  • That Table For Us may require additional signed agreements (waivers, confidentiality, background checks) depending on the role

  • That your volunteer status may be terminated at our discretion for any reason

  • That you participate at your own risk and waive claims against Table For Us for injury or loss arising from volunteer activities, except where caused by our gross negligence or wilful misconduct

7. User Conduct

When using our website or services, you agree not to:

  • Engage in any unlawful activity

  • Harass, threaten, or harm other users, our staff, or our volunteers

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems

  • Upload or share content that is defamatory, obscene, harmful, or infringing

  • Interfere with the operation of the website

  • Use our services to send unsolicited communications

8. Intellectual Property

All content on tableforus.ca, including text, images, logos, graphics, and the Table For Us name and mark, is owned by Table For Us Foundation or our licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent, except for personal, non-commercial use.

9. User-Generated Content

If you submit content to Table For Us (testimonials, photos, comments, social posts using our hashtags), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with our mission and communications. You confirm that any content you submit is your own and does not infringe on any third party’s rights.

10. Disclaimers

Our website and services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Table For Us disclaims all warranties.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Table For Us Foundation, its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, and partners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of our website, services, or attendance at our events. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount of any donation or registration fee you paid in the twelve months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Table For Us Foundation from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms or your misuse of our website or services.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to our website or services at any time for any reason without notice.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Toronto, Ontario.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Your continued use of our website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
